These aren't colours or materials I usually work with but the beads were beautiful handmade ceramic from Grubbi Ceramics in the U.K.
I left them out for a while seeing what they inspired me to do. It was getting down to the wire so I decided to do a creative marathon and get everything done in an afternoon. I seem to work best under pressure :-)
These are the results:
There was a large and heavy copper clasp included in the soup but I decided to split it up and make it a focal with the wee little bird dangling from it. I thought she was so sweet I didn't want to detract from her so I kept the rest simple. Just a plain copper chain embellished with some little shell flowers.
The next piece I used the large ceramic focal. It seemed very bohemian so I paired it with the waxed cotton cord knotted with seed beads and the remaining smaller ceramic beads.
The last piece I focused on the copper beads Bonnie had selected and dug in my stash for something to highlight them. I think they look stunning paired with amazonite and aventurine in the double strand bracelet. Quite a departure from the first 2 pieces.
I can't wait to see what Bonnie made with the soup I sent her!
